IDR is seeking a Databricks Administrator to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Austin, Texas. This position is within a leading organization specializing in data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML workloads, focusing on maintaining platform reliability, security, and compliance to support enterprise initiatives.
Position Overview for the Databricks Administrator:
- Administer, configure, and support the Databricks platform in a cloud environment to enable scalable data engineering and analytics.
- Manage workspace configuration, cluster policies, user access, and integrations with cloud services such as AWS S3.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and availability while ensuring security and compliance standards.
- Support data engineers, analysts, and data scientists with platform optimizations and troubleshooting.
- Enforce governance standards and implement cost management strategies for Databricks workloads.
Requirements for the Databricks Administrator:
- 8+ years of experience administering Databricks workspaces in a cloud environment—specifically AWS.
- Extensive understanding of Databricks cluster configuration, job scheduling, and workspace management.
- Experience managing user access, roles, and permissions using IAM, SCIM, and role-based access control (RBAC).
- Proficiency with Apache Spark concepts, including performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with integrating Databricks with cloud storage services such as S3.
