IDR is seeking a Health Information Services Technician to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Torrance, CA. This role is within the healthcare industry, focusing on managing patient health information and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. The company emphasizes accuracy and efficiency in handling medical records and information requests.
Position Overview for the Health Information Services Technician:
- Receive and prioritize customer requests related to patient health information from multiple sources and ensure timely processing.
- Utilize EPIC/ROI (Release of Information) module to process medical records requests accurately and efficiently.
- Educate customers on confidentiality and privacy regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare providers, legal entities, and internal teams to fulfill data requests.
- Maintain data accuracy with a processing goal of 95% accuracy and adhere to all federal and state regulations regarding health information.
Requirements for the Health Information Services Technician:
- Use of Epic Release of Information module and ability to elaborate on its use in detail.
- Knowledge of HIPAA laws and data privacy regulations.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience processing medical record requests.
- Proficiency in data entry, processing, and use of PDF applications such as Kofax.
- HS Diploma or GED is required for this role.
