IDR is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer (Advanced) to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Boston, Massachusetts. This role is focused on building and evolving a production API gateway that powers AI-enabled legal research, contract review, and document analysis capabilities. You’ll lead a team responsible for enterprise cloud platform reliability, security, scalability, and high-performance integrations.
Position Overview for the Lead Platform Engineer (Advanced):
- Own and operate a production multi-tenant API gateway for enterprise customers
- Lead platform engineering efforts spanning reliability, scalability, performance, and security
- Drive authentication, authorization, and identity management for secure API access
- Partner across engineering and platform teams while guiding technical architecture and delivery
Requirements for the Lead Platform Engineer (Advanced):
- Advanced experience with Python and FastAPI in production environments
- Strong AWS experience, including ECS Fargate, and Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK), plus RDS and ElastiCache/Redis
- Experience building and operating enterprise-scale API platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and platform reliability
