IDR is seeking a Research Moderator to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves supporting game development through conducting playtests and research sessions, both in-person and remotely, to gather valuable player feedback for new game titles. The position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate research needs across various times, including evenings and weekends.
Position Overview for the Research Moderator:
- Facilitate in-person and remote usability studies, expert reviews, and playtest sessions.
- Observe sessions, capture detailed notes, tag themes, and support topline development.
- Moderate participant discussions using established research protocols while maintaining a neutral facilitation style.
- Assist in setting up test and survey designs for playtests.
- Collaborate with researchers and operations staff to ensure research sessions run smoothly.
Requirements for the Research Moderator:
- 2+ years of professional experience in user research, playtest moderation, or focus group facilitation.
- Familiarity with Riot’s games and players; able to engage empathetically with diverse player types.
- Experience with survey software (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey).
- Experience with light quantitative and qualitative analysis (e.g., descriptive statistics, verbatim coding).
- Strong verbal communication skills and neutral facilitation style.
