Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Risk Adjustment Coders:
- Conduct coding training sessions and educational programs for physicians, mid-levels, and support staff to enhance their understanding of HCCs.
- ??Perform both prospective and retrospective chart reviews, providing assessments and tailored education to healthcare providers.
- Abstract diagnosis codes from clinical notes to educate providers and staff on the significance of accurate HCC coding. Serve as a coding resource, promptly addressing inquiries and offering guidance to practices.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish EMR access and participate actively in departmental meetings.
Required Skills for Risk Adjustment Coders:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must hold a Certified Coding Specialist (CPC) certification; CRC certification is preferred.
- Possess 2-5 years of experience in Risk Adjustment coding.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ownership of ICD10 coding books is highly preferred.
