Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on all types of mechanical equipment associated with hydroelectric plants.
Read and understand necessary manuals, drawings, plans and specifications.
Dismantle, repair, replace, install piping for the turbine and generator systems
Welding, grinding, pipe preparation, pressure testing, cleaning of piping
Operate boom trucks, gantry cranes and hoists (not mandatory)
Perform metal work, pipe work, routine welding, painting
Take measurements and prepare job sketches.
In addition to the normal description of construction work for lifting, bending, working with the hands pulling
Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other employees and the public using principles of good customer service.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Knowledge:
Minimum 2-years of prior Welding/Pipefitting experience, preferably working on hydroelectric plants.
Principles and practices of maintaining multi-purpose hydroelectric generating facilities, including dams, powerhouses, valve and gate houses and equipment associated with these facilities.
Safe operation of heavy construction equipment.
Theory and application of repair and replacement practices for mechanical equipment and heavy industrial machinery used at hydroelectric power generating facilities.
Principles and practices of customer service.
