IDR is seeking a Telecom/Network Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Jacksonville, FL. This role involves supporting the physical and network infrastructure within a healthcare environment, focusing on switch replacement and troubleshooting to ensure seamless connectivity and security. The company operates within the telecommunications and networking industry and values technical expertise.
Position Overview for the Telecom/Network Engineer:
- Manage and execute physical access layer switch replacement and troubleshoot related issues.
- Configure and install Cisco access layer switch stacks.
- Support networking projects ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Work in a fast-paced environment requiring technical problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with a team to maintain and improve network stability.
Requirements for the Telecom/Network Engineer:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of two (2) years of professional technical work experience, or an associate’s degree with at least four (4) years of experience, or a minimum of six (6) years of professional technical experience without a degree.
- Expert knowledge of telecom and network concepts, including the 7-layer OSI model.
- Experience with Cisco switches, especially C9300 series, preferred.
- Prior experience working in a healthcare environment is a plus.
- Ability to work evenings and possibly into early mornings after onboarding.
